More Stuff

Here are a few layouts I've worked on over the past couple weeks.

First is the photo I shared last week from Luke's first day of school. (Lukas, Mrs. Robin, and Alex)

Here's Lukas playing spiderman

This layout was created for a blindfold challenge at http://www.treasuredscrapbooking.com/
(they had a online crop this past week)I had to pick out 3 PP, some embellishments
and alphas - blindfolded. I chose the papers out of my scrap bag and I let Steve pick out the
other things. I guess it turned out OK.

This challenge was to use the color black, a heart and pearls.

This challenge was to use the color Orange and circles ( Orange Juice challenge)

This challenge was to use layered ruffles, or scallops, the colors red, yellow and blue and
a hollowed out circle.

Scrapping Frenzy Crop

On Aug 7th I took the day off from work and attended a scrapbooking crop hosted by http://www.scrappingfrenzy.com/. It was really Fun!!! Here's what I was able to get done that day.

Lukas hiding under the bed.

Eating watermelon in the backyard.

Lukas taking a hug from Jacob. (that's what Lukas says "I wanna take a hug"

Just some quick shots of Jacob acting silly before a day at summer camp.

These photos are almost a year old... Jacob's birthday is Sept 16 and it took me almost a year to scrap them. LOL!
Oh well, it's done before his 7th birthday.

Bell-Bell and the 1st day of School

Both Jacob and Lukas started back to school on August 10th. Jacob's 1st grade teacher is Ms Lee. (I wasn't able to get a photo of
her, it was crazy at the school).
Anyway, here's a photo of Jacob (acting scared)
outside of his classroom.

This is Jacob standing with one of his friends from Summer Camp (Cole).

AND here is Ms Bell-Bell! Actually, this is Luke's new Pre-K teacher Ms Robin Seitz. Her sister has become a friend of mine recently and told me a funny story of how Robin LOVES Bell Peppers.

When she was a little girl she called them Bell-Bells. I guess when she was about 3 years old she climbed up a telephone pole and wouldn't come back down unless she got a "Bell-Bell"

Too funny! In the next photo you can see the Bell-Bell we brought her for the 1st day of school.

I'm trying

to get back into scrapping. I have ALL these supplies and ALL these photos...
so I'm trying!

I did this layout using the sketch challenge at http://52sketches52weeks.ning.com/
I really love the sketches at this site. Julie, the designer, does a great job!

This is Darlene and I met her at the crop I hosted last weekend. It was truly an honor to meet this strong and courageous woman. I will be walking for her in October. (and Happy to do it!)

Next... I did this layout using the challenge posted at a new blog named A La Carte. The 2 ladies running this challenge blog are UBER talented. It's worth visiting the blog just to check out their work!
http://alacartechallenge.blogspot.com/

This is the July Kool-Aid Challenge.

Here's their challenge:
Here in the Deep South, it's about 150 degrees in the shade in the middle of July. So, we are always trying to stay cool. Sipping iced tea, licking a popsicle, lounging in the pool (even if it is a whopping 20" deep), and slurping homemade ice cream. This menu is about all things cool!

Menu:

1. Use turquoise, red, and yellow.
2. Use a popsicle stick.
3. Use a clear embellishment.
4. Use a circular layout.
5. Use a number in your title.
6. Use a handcut embellishment.

Directions: Choose at least three menu items for your challenge. Email your layout to fasylvia_6@yahoo.com before midnight CST July29th. Please include your name and title of your layout in your email. A winner will be drawn and announced on August 1st.

And my last one for now. I used the sketch challenge at http://creativescrappers.blogspot.com/

Sketch #62

I tried out my new bottle of glimmer mist... love that red color!

And one last thing... I won some goodies from Sassafras.
(In this post -- close to the bottom.. http://sassafras.typepad.com/sassafras/2009/07/friday.html) So awesome! They just emailed me this week... I'm so excited to
see what I get. All for keeping that cute little bunny icon on my blog!

Selective Recoloring

I guess this is OK.. I kinda like the before photo a little better, but I guess it shows the technique.

another try with textures

Since Maria pointed out that I could probably crop that photo below (and I totally agree) It's way too busy! I found another one here to test a texture. I used 3 different textures on this one... a brown paper bag, a old photo film and and another brown paper... kinda neat.

Jessica Sprague suggested to use textures on photos that are not upclose shots of people... I really do not have many landscape shots.. I don't even know where this one came from. Anyway.. fun easy stuff.

Edit photos of course! Actually I'm taking a class with Jessica Sprague

Here's the before:

Kinda cool! Boy, I've got lots to learn.

Couple pages

Here are a few scrapbook pages I worked on over the weekend for the http://www.serendipityscrapbooks.com/ crop I joined.

First.. Somebody Loves Me
Challenge was to use hidden journaling.

Second: Slip N Slide
Challenge was to use "water" photos
and some sort of bling. Jacob helped me with this
one. He glued on all the little rhinestones.
Oh, and he also helped me spell out the title.
(gotta keep those kindergarten skills sharp!)

Third: Simple Irresistible
Challenge was to use a song title of a British
music star.
You guys remember that song by Robert Palmer?

Fourth: It's All About the Beads
(Lukas at one of the Mardi Gras parades)
Challenge was to use large circles.

Last: Buddy
Challenge was to use naked chipboard
(I broke all the creative barriers and inked
the chipboard... ok, maybe I'm the only one
who thinks that's funny!)
I now see that title is a little funky. The
Y was made out of a G... why would they
only include one Y in a pack of $7.00 chipboard?
HELLO! There were 3 Gs in that pack.

That's all! I couldn't get out of playing baseball, roller skating, grocery shopping, picking up toys (104 times) making lunch, washing clothes and all that other stuff Mom's have to do on the weekend.
I enjoyed this creative time. This is the most I've scrapped in over a year!
