Cards and Layouts made during Scrapbook Heaven's Crop

First some super simple cards.

Below we have
1- Only 10 Min - photos taken at Orange Beach. We only allowed the boys to
play in the water for about 10 minutes because of the Oil Spill. We didn't have
any problems, but we knew the oil was out there! yuck!

2. No Big Hurry Here is a turtle we found in the back yard one afternoon and he made his way
up to our garage the next morning.. it only took him all night!

2- Happy 2-gether (or at least I think so... hehe!) This is my brother Jason
and his GF Kelly. They came down to Alabama to visit for a week and we
took the kids to the beach for a couple days. These photos were taken
at the Track.

3- Handsome
Photos take of Jacob in our backyard in Mobile, AL.

4- Go Go Go -Carts

5- Life is Simple... Eat, Sleep and Scrap
Photos take at the Crop 4 a Cure. This is a fundraiser I hosted in June
to help raise money for the Susan G Komen 3 day.

6. In a League of your own.
Super old photos of Jacob playing t-ball. He was 4 and we were
still living in Florida

7. A Kid with Class
Photos of Jacob in Kindergarten. (Yes, I am a little behind!)

8- Ready Set Blow
Again an older photo. This was at Luke's 3rd birthday party.
That's Grandma Folsom (Steve's mom), Lukas and Steve helping
Lukas blow out his birthday candles on his pink cake. (that he requested)

Frugal Friday

Tonight I plan to make my very first batch of Homemade Laundry Detergent.

Here it is:
Ingredients:
•3.1 oz bar Ivory soap (Ivory is chosen because it's all natural. You may use a soap of your choice) Fels-Naptha soap is also a good choice of soap to use. Found in the laundy soal department.
•1 cup 20 Mule Team Borax
•½ cup Arm & Hammer Washing Soda
•Water
Tools:
•5 Gallon container
•Knife
•Pot large enough to hold 5 cups of water
•Long stirring stick/spoon (for 5 gallon container)
Instructions:
Shave the soap into small strips and place in the pot with 5 cups of water. Bring the water just shy of a boil and stir until the soap is completely melted. When the soap is just about melted, pour 3 gallons of hot water into the 5-gallon container and let it sit until the soap in the pot is totally melted. Once all of the soap shavings are melted, pour the mixture into the 5-gallon container and stir.

Once the soap and water are thoroughly stirred, add the ½ cup pf washing soda and stir until dissolved. Once the washing soda is dissolved, pour in the cup of borax and stir again until dissolved.

Optional: Essential Oils for fragrance. If you like fragrant detergent, now is when you can add a few drops of your favorite essential oils.

The cost to wash 110.5 loads with homemade laundry detergent is $1.11.

PS.. I found some of the ingredients at Walmart, but Ace Hardware had them all.
If your Ace hardware doesn't carry these items you can order them and have
them shipped for free to the Ace Hardware near you.
It was about $10 to buy everything and I bet I can get a couple batches from that.

My Sweet boys-- 1st Day of School 2010-11

Jacob is now in the 2nd grade and Lukas just started Kindergarten. Jacob's teach is Mrs. Hughes and Luke's teacher is Mrs. A Foster. Both are happy about their new teachers!

I'm so Sorry Glued2paper.. you have been so neglected!

Wow, I've not updated since May! Wow! I guess I've been busy doing a bunch of
nothing..
Well, I have been working a bit and walking a lot.

Just training for this little ole' 60 mile walk in Oct. I'm up to 13 miles now...
And I'm tired! 10 more weeks and I'll be traveling to Tampa for the
3 day walk with my Hot Pink Olive team. I'm looking forward to it.

The boys started school on the 9th of August and they both are happy with
their new teachers. I can't believe my baby is in Kindergarten. I'll update
again in a bit with some photos.
